Good palace to dine in. No words to express my love for this place! Hands down, this is really one of the best places to enjoy a meal, without being rushed and the staff is amazing! They treat you like family, and these days you don't get that very often. I have never had a bad experience here.

Fantastic Chinese. If you're looking for great Chinese this is your place. I had the best moo shu beef I've had in years. Pan-fried dumplings were another highlight. The food was fresh, sauces were light but flavorful, servings are generous. The atmosphere is relaxing, the decor is lovely. I am so glad we now have this excellent option for Chinese in our area and will be returning very soon!

great Chinese food. Looking for great Chinese food? well, go to Red Palace. We have eaten here a few times and always enjoy the food very much. The food is very tasty. The General Tso,s chicken and Crab Rangoon are so delicious, my mouth is starting to water. I would totally recommend it to everybody.

I live in the neighborhood, and I frequent Red Palace at least once a week, whether it be take out or Buffet. The food is always high quality -- hot and fresh.The shrimp dishes as well as the chicken and rice are fantastic! Additionally, the service is always on point. I can hardly imagine a better place to eat Chinese.

So-so generic Chinese. From the uniformly rave reviews, we expected something special on our trip to Roanoke. What we found was decent Americanized Chinese food.

I suppose that there's a limit to the type and number of offerings a buffet like this can provide in this type of area. From other Chinese buffets that I've been to, though, here's what I would have liked to have seen:

More veggie dishes, e.g., spinach, eggplant with garlic, more than one tofu dish. Snow peas.

Pot stickers & other dim sum type offerings.

More seafood dishes, e.g., steamed/sauteed fish & seafood. There was one fried fish dish, and a pan of clams that unfortunately ran out before we had a chance to try them. There was a bright and tasty shrimp stir fry that was good. But the cold cocktail shrimp on the salad bar were, disappointingly, truly bland and awful.

I would have liked to have seen: salmon, squid, mussels.

One thing that was new for me was a big rice cooker to dip white rice out of. Since it wasn't obvious what it was, it would have been helpful to label it. (or if there was a label, I didn't notice it).

The hygiene issue? One of the covers for the steamed buns fell on the floor, rim-down. One of the staff picked it up and placed it back on the buns. He should have removed it and replaced it with a clean cover.

Very good food, excellent variety. Upon reading reviews from others, my wife and I ate at Red Palace during a recent VA trip, and we truly enjoyed the food! The service was great, and the food tasted wonderful. I would like to thank the previous reviewers. Because of you, I was willing to drive extra 40 miles to try our luck at this restaurant. If you're a buffet lover, you got to try this place.

Best Chinese Food. I was travelling to Greenville, SC from Northern VA and I accidentally happen to go to this restaurant found on the GPS. Guess what! I had the best chinese food I ever had. The price is pretty reasonable, the staff is very attentive and the food taste is yummy. Next time I travel on I-81 I will surely stop by at the red palace.

Lisa. I've been to Red Palace 50+ times. Each time I go there, I enjoy my

experience even more. Best Chinese food in the Roanoke, I eat in and take out at Red Palace about twice a week. The ambiance in this restaurant is wonderful. It is so popular that it is almost always full, especially at dinner time. The food is made with delightful sauce and is delicious and well prepared. The service is excellent, friendly and attentive. This is my favorite restaurant the place is so clean and neat.An overall wonderful experience.

I've continuously recommended Red Palace to all my friends and family.

Best Chinese In Town. This restaurant is the best I've actually had anywhere. The service is great, restaurant is clean, and the food is fresh even on the buffet. It's just a shame they don't serve sushi.

Great staff. My son and I have eaten there quite often, even on the worst night to eat out and the staff there has always been great and they all seem to love kids. They call you by your first name and even help the kids out with the use of chopsticks. Highly recommended
